CANADA AIMS TO STREAMLINE STUDENT VISA PROCESSING

-

CHANDIGARH: The Canadian government has announced it is streamlining the visa application process for students aspiring to pursue higher education in the country.

In a press release on Wednesday, the High Commission of Canada said the existing Student Partnership Program (SPP) will be replaced with the Student Direct Stream (SDS).

“Canada has quickly become the preferred destination for Indian students looking for a high quality education. The new SDS will provide for students aspiring to go to Canada with an even faster and more streamlined visa application process,” said Nadir Patel, Canada’s High Commissioner to India.

The new plan will be open to international students going to a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada, including both publicly-funded and private post-secondary institutions, the release stated.
