CHANDIGARH: Reacting to Canada leader of Opposition Andrew Scheer’s statement during Wednesday’s Punjab visit that his party ‘does not support those who choose violence for a political agenda’, the Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) has written to Scheer saying that, “Sikh separatism is a political opinion and labeling it as violence and terrorism flouts the Canadian values of democracy and respect for dissent”. The SFJ is leading the campaign to hold non-binding ‘Referendum 2020’ among global Sikh community for Punjab’s independence.
