TV actor Ankit Gera (above), who has been travelling for the past three months, says that he prefers to go on a holiday alone. “I spent more than a half month in Russia with a friend, but I explored Capetown on my own. If you travel alone, there is absolutely nobody to direct you. You are then free to go wherever your heart says and do things that you have always wanted to do,” he says.

Talking about his time spent in Russia, he adds, “The best thing in Russia is that they don’t know your language, English or Hindi. There are beautiful landscapes there. My favourite spot was St Petersburg church. I also happened to find food at an affordable price, almost at half the rate than what I get here in India. Being a nonvegetarian, I enjoyed the fare there.”

Refreshed with his travels, Gera is on a lookout for fresh work. “Throughout my career, I have done only positive roles. I am on a lookout for challenging roles now, as I want to try something different,” he said.
