‘Fans complain to me about my shows’

Actor Ayub Khan’s (right) jump to television from films came after he started getting meaty offers from the small screen, but he says that some of his fans have come up to him and complained about him for doing stereotypical daily soaps.

“Sometimes I meet people who sort of reprimand me for the kind of shows that I am doing. They expect me to be the one who dictates how the story of the show should go. It is a little difficult to explain to such people that it doesn’t work that way. So, I just agree with them and say that I will make sure that my next show will be better,” says Khan, who has worked in shows such as Uttaran and Ek Hasina Thi.

The actor adds that he does not get offended by such suggestions made by fans. “I cannot be offended by people ridiculing me. If they ridicule me, they have a right to that. This is part and parcel of showbiz. I understand that there is a certain amount of belief that fans have in me. I’m sure they want to see me do something better because they think I have the capability,” he says.
