Shahid Kapoor, one of Bollywood’s most eligible bachelors, marries Delhi girl in a private ceremony
Actor Shahid Kapoor tied the knot with Delhi girl Mira Rajput on Tuesday at industrialist Shivinder Singh’s farmhouse in Delhi. The wedding ceremony took place in the afternoon. “They wanted a very private ceremony. Only around 40 of their close friends and family were present,” a source close to the actor told HT City. The venue of the wedding had tight security and there were barricades placed on the road near the bungalow.
Celebrity photographer Rohan Shreshta tweeted a photo of the sangeet ceremony but refused to spill the beans on the details. “I am at the wedding, but I am not allowed to say anything else,” he told us on Tuesday morning. The wedding ended at around 12.30pm, after which the couple sat down for lunch with the family and their Guru from the Radha Soami Satsang Beas.
On Monday, the couple had their sangeet and mehendi ceremony at Mira’s Chhatarpur house. She wore a yellow outfit at the haldi, and accessoried it with a floral neckpiece and d tiara. She chose the same colour for her sangeet, and wore an Anita Dongre lehenga, while Shahid sported a maroon bandgala a by designer friend Kunal Rawal. Anita Dongre tweeted Mira’s look and wrote, “Mira Rajput danced the night away with Shahid Kapoor in a sunflower yellow Benaras brocade lehenga which she paired with a beautiful peach gotapatti choli”. The couple danced to many of Shahid’s songs. Some of the other songs included Dilliwali Girlfriend, Bang Bang, Saturday Saturday.
At the time of going to press, there was a grand wedding reception planned at the Oberoi hotel in Gurgaon on Tuesday evening.
