Top beauty trends you must try
Think British model Cara Delevingne (left) or American actor Camilla Belle, and you’ll remembber their bold, striking brows. Now, heavy-set eyebrows have also been voted the top beauty trend of the past decade in a nnew survey carried out in the UUK. Keeping a few things in mind, you too can ace the top trends that were revealed in The British Association of Beauty Therapists and Cosmetology’s research.
Contouring, a makeup technique made famous by American reality TV star Kim Kardashian, has been declared the second most hit trend in the survey. Perfecting it requires one to use foundations and concealers of differing shades to subtly sculpt the face by enhancing features such as lips and cheekbones, while ‘slimming’ other features such as the nose, for an overall chiselled look.
Another top trend is dark, berry-hued lips that include deep shades of scarlet and maroon, and you can ace the trend for the summer. If you are going for a bold colour, make sure the rest of the face is left bare, so the overall look does not look costumey.
The classic pin-up red lip is another trend that holds a high position on the list. One thing to remember when going for the shade is that red is not occasion-friendly, so make sure you are wearing the colour when you want to stand out and when you’ve kept your eye makeup simple.
Other looks that made it to the top 10 list include winged eyeliner. Go for exaggerated tips on the side for a cocktail evening, when you’re donning a red-carpet perfect dress.
At the bottom of the trend list, at number 10, is the ‘no-makeup’ natural look — a petal-hued gloss, a thin layer of mascara and peaches ‘n’ hue foundation, and you’re ready to go!
