AJAY WASN’T GETTING EXCITING OFFERS
(right) has experimented with serious, comic as well as action roles so far, and says that intense roles excite him the most. In fact, that’s the reason he chose to do his upcoming project.
“I did intense roles in films like Zakhm (1988), Deewangee (2002) and Company (2002), and my performance was liked by people. I wanted to do more such roles but I wasn’t getting any exciting offers of that type,” Devgn said at the promotional event. The 46-yearold actor added that when signing a film, “the film and role have to be extraordinary or else then things don’t work”.
In his upcoming film, Devgn plays a family man who is pitted against actor Tabu, and had a great time while shooting. “On the first day, I had a bit of difficulty as I had to look like a simple man but then things got better,” he said. The actor is also happy with how the action sequences have been executed in this film. “You’ll get to see intelligent action and not the usual stuff. It was exciting for me to do it,” says Devgn, who was last seen in Action Jackson (2014), alongside actor Sonakshi Sinha.
Since his next is a remake of a successful Malayalam film, comparisons are bound to happen. But the actor is confident and says: “Our film is different. The performances are different.” A murder mystery set in Goa, the movie also features actor Shriya Saran.
