For the last five years now, one has been hearing that singer and music composer Adnan Sami (below) is set to launch himself as a lead actor in a film. And while things are underway, Sami isn’t in a hurry to make an official announcement till a release date can be decided.

“We were able to tighten the screenplay (of the project) but situations changed and we had to tweak the screenplay more. I don’t want to make a formal announcement and go into the zone where people would ask ‘what happened to that project’,” says Adnan, who is said to be a conman in the movie. “I want to announce when we can also give a release date,” adds the 41-year-old, whose track Bhar Do Jholi from Bajrangi Bhaijaan is garnering a lot of appreciation. He last composed for the 2010 film, Chance Pe Dance. .

“I decided to take a break for a few years and reflect on my work. But now I will be more actively involved with films and music,” says Adnan, who has composed for films like Lucky: No Time For Love (2007), Dhamaal (2007) and Shaurya (2008).
