Actor Shivaji Satam (left), who plays ACP Pradyuman in the TV show CID, has pledged his organs for those in need of medical attention but are not able to afford it.

“I don’t consider this as something great. I think it is every individual’s duty and responsibility to work towards the greater good of humanity,” Satam says.

“There are times when someone wants to, but can’t extend a helping hand, because his circumstances do not allow him to. But pledging an organ is something everyone can do,” he says, and adds that pledging organs does not require anyone else’s approval and is something that can be done completely on your own.

The actor is hopeful that it will motivate his fans to do the same. “I still remember the day I pledged to donate all my organs ... I can never forget that feeling. I hope more people take up such good causes and at least pledge one organ, if not the entire body, so that we can help a hundred others who need our help,” he says.
