AlthoughAlt actor Anu Aggarwal (left) left the industry after her car accident in 1999, she very clearly remembers how stardom hit her overnight after the releaserele of Aashiqui. “People wentwen crazy. There were people out my doorstep all the time; I walked out to notes saying, “Anu, I love you.” There were alwaysalw pieces of paper in the corridors,” Anu said in an earlier interview. She also said that doing the movie was never on her mind. “I never wanted to be a star. Mahesh Bhatt pressured me into doing Aashiqui. He looked at me and said, ‘You are a star. You should act in movies.’ Seven months later, he called me and said, ‘I’ve written a script for you. If you don’t do the film, I won’t make it. The name of the film is Aashiqui’,” she says.
