Actor Shakti Kapoor (left) will be seen playing the role of murderer Parvez Taq in the short film made on model-actor

Laila Khan (right). Directed by Rakesh Sawant, the movie is a seven-minute short film that will trace the story of the sensational murder case of Laila Khan, her mother and her siblings in 2011. Playing the role of Parvez Taq left Shakti drained, he says.

“I have played many negative roles but this one left me in shivers. The killings in the movie were so grotesque that I was unable to come out of the impact for a really long time,” says Shakti.

The filmmakers are also planning to show the movie at film festivals. “We intend to showcase our movie at Cannes and other film festivals in the coming year. People will really enjoy the thriller because everyone has done a lot of hard work in the short film,” says Shakti.

Rakesh Sawant directed Laila Khan in his directorial venture Wafa: A Deadly Love Story, along with Rajesh Khanna in 2008. Shot in Assam, the role of Laila is being played by newcomer Jaya Thakur.
