Bollywood actor Konkona Sen Sharma (above), who will be seen playing the role of freedom fighter Gaur Hari Das’s wife in his biopic, says that she did a lot of research for the role. The actor adds that the research involved going and meeting Das’s wife Laxmi, who helped her understand the nuances of the role. The actor was so grateful for the help that she bought something special for Laxmi.

“Konkona got a lot of inspiration from Laxmi and wanted to do something special for her. She has specially purchased a sari from her hometown Kolkata. It’s a peach and white authentic Bengali sari,” says a source.

Talking about the experience, Konkona says, “I troubled Ms Das a lot. I literally stayed with them for over 40 days and they treated me just like their daughter. This is just a small way to thank them for the inspiration I got from them and also the love they showered during my stay.”
