No matter how hectic her schedule may get, actor Sonakshi Sinha says she makes sure that she spends time with her friends. This, she says, relaxes and rejuvenates her, which in turn helps her do better at work.

“I make it a point to spend time with my friends whenever I have time off from work. My friends are the people who help me unwind and forget all about work. When I am with them, I don’t have a care in the world. They’re a real stressbuster, so I hang with them as much as I can,” says Sona, 28.

Talking about her best friend, she says, “My oldest and best friend is Vidhi (Lodha). She’s a chartered accountant and we were in school together. I can’t remember a single time when I have needed her and she’s not been there,” she says.

The fact that they are from different worlds is what makes this friendship special for Sonakshi. “I love the fact that my best friend is not from the film world. It helps keep things in perspective,” she says, adding, “Growing up, we had a lot in common. We were in the same school, we have the same silly sense of humour, we don’t take life too seriously. We grew up and moved into our professions, but nothing really changed in our equation.” Sona adds, “Vidhi and I have known each other since we were 10 years old. We have way too many memories over the years. I don’t think I laugh as much with anyone else as I do with her. We have gotten into trouble, covered each other’s backs, embarrassed ourselves, and evolved. Many people have come and gone, but she is the one constant in my life. She’s more like the sister I never had.”
