British singer Sam

Smith (above) will take some time off from the spotlight before he starts working on the follow-up to his 2014 album, In the Lonely Hour. “I’m going to take a massive break towards the end of the year I think ... just because I want to re-gather,” the 23-year-old Grammy winner said on a radio show.

The Lay Me Down singer, however, has already started writing songs for his highlyanticipated album, and said: “I’m already writing. I feel like I’ve already got the title of the album; I’ve got the concept of the album.”

Smith added that he totally submerges himself in the concept, and knows what he wants for his next album. “I work in terms of concepts. When I find the thing I want to write about, I physically do it. It sounds really weird, but when I knew that the (previous) album was going to be called In the Lonely Hour, I subconsciously started being lonelier ... so I can write music about it,”

he said.
