Jessica’s company under fire for ‘poor sunscreen’
Jessica Alba (above) and her cosmetics company have come under fire after outraged customers complained that the brand’s sunscreen is ineffective and doesn’t provide proper protection.
The Sin City star’s business claims that it sells safe and eco-friendly house- hold and baby care products, but the products have upset consumers, who recently bashed the brand online. The upset users posted on social media snaps of their red, burnt skin after using the product, with one even claiming they “got fried”.
“I’ve tried dozens of sunscreens and words can’t come close to describing how terrible this product compares even to the cheapest stuff you find at discount stores,” one user wrote. A rep for Alba’s company released a statement, “We’re committed to provide safe and effective products, and we take all consumer feedback very seriously. Our product was tested by an independent third party against the protocols prescribed by the US Food & Drug Administration’s (FDA) monograph for over-the-counter sunscreen products. The results showed that our product is effective and safe for use as an 80 minute waterresistant...” he said.
