Ir­rfan lands a Ja­panese show

Ir­rfan Khan has been part of var­i­ous Hol­ly­wood and Bri­tish film projects. Af­ter gar­ner­ing much ap­pre­ci­a­tion for his latest Amer­i­can out­ing, Juras­sic World, he will now be seen in a Ja­panese TV show Ap­par­ently, the 48-year-old ac­tor will start shoot­ing for the show, which is a mini-se­ries based on World War II, next month. A source says, “He will start shoot­ing in Europe next month. Some parts of the show will also be filmed in Ja­pan. It will be di­rected by Cana­dian di­rec­tor and screen­writer, Rob W King, and Dutch di­rec­tor, Pi­eter Ver­ho­eff. Ir­rfan will play the role of an In­dian judge on the show, which is based on a decade-long in­ves­ti­ga­tion into the events in the Pa­cific dur­ing and af­ter the war.”

The ex­ec­u­tive pro­ducer of the se­ries, Taka­fumi Yuki, says, “Ir­rfan is a lead­ing star in the world to­day, and we are so very proud to have such a great ac­tor on board. We are pretty con­fi­dent that this in­ter­na­tional co-pro­duc­tion will de­liver a great mes­sage to the world­wide au­di­ence.”

When con­tacted, Ir­rfan said, “I am quite ex­cited to ex­plore this char­ac­ter.”
