American stand-up comedian and actor Amy Schumer (right) says she wants to promote the cause of gun control laws in the United States. The 34-year-old called for stricter gun control laws after the recent theater shooting during a screening of her latest movie, Trainwreck, in which two women died and nine others were injured. “Preventing dangerous people from getting guns is very possible... These are my first public comments on the issue of gun violence, but I promise they won’t be my last,” she said. On being asked if she anticipated a backlash for becoming an advocate for gun control, Amy said, “Yeah, I am expecting backlash... But I would deal with it the same way I dealt with a lot of hate online for the last 10 years... I want to be proud of how I’m living.”
