Filmmaker JP Dutta’s daughter Nidhi Dutta ( left) is all set to make her acting debut in Bollywood. And although she has assisted her father on various films and was even a costume assistant on Umrao Jaan (2006), it’s being an actor that was her dream. “I love being in front of the camera. It just makes me so happy. I have worked with my father in different capacities, and then I realised acting is my calling,” says Nidhi, who will be seen as a travel blogger in her upcoming film.

However, she says that bagging this movie, which is being made under her father’s banner, wasn’t a conscious decision. “I didn’t work towards getting the role. In fact, I along with the team, had been auditioning people for the role, but nothing seemed to click. Then, Ajit (Ajit Sodhi, her co-star in the film) said I was the perfect fit. So, that’s how the film came to me,” says the 25-year-old.
