Farah Khan, filmmaker

Choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan (above) has denied reports that she’s planning a biopic on tennis star Sania Mirza (right) as of now. However, she says she may think about such a project sometime in the future. The buzz started after Sania attended an Eid lunch organised by the film- maker.

When asked about the biopic, Farah says: “I don’t know where these rumours are coming from. Right now I am not planning anything like this, but you have given me the idea ... so I will think about it.”

Meanwhile, Farah’s journey from choreography to direction has been turned into a book by lyricist Anand Bakshi’s son Rakesh. Talking about the story, Khan, who has helmed films such as Main Hoon Na (2004), Om Shanti Om (2007) and Happy New Year (2014), says that she is of the opinion that making a film is not cakewalk and anyone who’s managed a film release deserves immense praise.

“I think anybody who has made a movie in our industry is outstanding and inspirational. It takes a lot of ‘papads to belao’ (enormous toiling) whether you’re a man, woman, animal or anything. If you get a movie released, hats off to you,” says the 50-year-old filmmaker.
