Hirani discharged from hospital
Bollywood filmmaker Rajkumar
Hirani (right), who suffered injuries after falling from a motorbike, was discharged from a Mumbai hospital after undergoing surgery earlier this week.
The 52-year-old director was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Lilavati Hospital in subur- ban Bandra. The doctors operated on Hirani after his jaw was dislocated and fractured. He is said to be fine now.
“He was discharged from the hospital last evening,” Dr Jalil Parkar said on Wednesday.
According to sources, one of Hirani’s employees had purchased a new bike and asked him if he wanted to ride it. The director — known for films such as Munna Bhai MBBS (2003), Lage Raho Munnabhai (2006), 3 Idiots (2009) and PK (2014) — agreed and was driving at a low speed, but could not manage the bike’s weight and fell.
