Zach will be the voice of Joker

Hol­ly­wood ac­tor Zach Galifianakis (above) is in fi­nal ne­go­ti­a­tions to voice the vil­lain in Lego Bat­man, a spin-off of The Lego Movie. Galifianakis, 45, will voice Bat­man’s clas­sic arch­en­emy, the Joker, join­ing Will Ar­nett, who is repris­ing the role of the Caped Cru­sader. Ac­tor Michael Cera re­cently came on board to voice the hero’s side­kick, Robin. Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Phil Lord and Christo­pher Miller, the cus­to­di­ans of the Lego screen brand, are pro­duc­ing the pro­ject. Chris McKay, the an­i­ma­tion su­per­vi­sor on Lego Movie, is di­rect­ing the pro­ject, which has a script writ­ten by screen­writer Seth Gra­hame-Smith. The ac­tor stars in Mas­ter­minds, an ensem­ble com­edy that was to be re­leased this fall but is now post­poned in­def­i­nitely as that com­pany is bank­rupt. He just wrapped the shoot of the com­edy Keep­ing Up with the Jone­ses.
