Swara will not let go of her jholaa

- ANJURI NAYAR SINGH

While success often changes people, actor Swara Bhaskar (left) says that she is not very different from the time she entered the industry.

The actor met director Sudhir Mishra when she had just come to Mumbai and says that he gave her one tip — to do away with her jholaa (a boho chic bag). However, the 27-yearold, who loves her jholaas, refused to let go. “Sudhir sir took one look at me. I was those fresh-off-the-boat, straight-out-of-university type aspiring actors. I remember Sudhir sir looking at my khaadi kurta and jeans and jholaa, and with a poker face, he said to me, ‘Lose that jholaa!’ And almost reflexively, I clutched it and replied, ‘No! It’s my soul!’” says the actor.

Swara adds that although she has updated her fashion sense, she has still not given up her jholaa. “Well! I learnt how to wear heels and dress up for red carpet events but I still have my jholaa. Some things never change.”
