Bollywood stars never cease to fascinate movie buffs with the cool fashion accessories they flaunt in films. The latest to become a rage is the Gada (mace) locket that was sported by actor Salman Khan in his film, Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

Whether it is retail outlets, shopping portals or local flea markets in the Capital, the locket has become a big hit among youngsters. “Jab se Salman bhai ne yeh locket pehna hai Bajrangi Bhaijaan mein, sabko yehi locket chahiye. Bahot log aate hai iske liye, aur din mein 40 bik jaate hai. Sale bahot acchi hai aur kayi baar extra mangana pad jaata hai,” says Bipin Kumar, a shopkeeper at Sarojini Nagar, who sells each piece for ` 75. Raj Singh, who works in a shop in Janpath, has a similar tale to tell: “We sell two variants of the locket, one with a silver chain and the other in a black thread, and the sale has been great,” he says.

Other film-inspired fashion trends that were big in recent years, were Deepika Padukone’s cat eye glasses from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013) and the party goggles sported by Imran Khan in Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (2012).
