Actor Gaurav Gera (left), who has essayed quite a few female characters onscreen, says he has more respect for women actors after realising what a tough time they go through on the sets while shooting.

“It’s painful to be a woman. Life is very easy for us guys. We reach the set five minutes before the shot and get ready. But actresses have to reach hours before the shot, get ready and sit straight all the time to keep the makeup and heavy accessories intact,” says Gaurav, who has done TV shows such as Dekh India Dekh, Mrs. Pammi Pyarelal, and is seen as Chutki in his online comedy series.

“I respect actresses much more now. They go through so much. It’s natural for them to get irritated but then, they end up being infamous for throwing tantrums,” he adds.
