‘Don’t compare me with others’
American actor Jessica Alba (above) is tired of stories pitting her against other female celebs who have launched successful lifestyle companies. The actor’s achievements are often compared to those of
Gwyneth Paltrow (inset), who launched her Goop lifestyle newsletter in 2008, reported Vanity Fair magazine.
When asked how she feels when compared with the Oscar-winning actor, Alba says, “I think it’s unfair to lump actresses together. People aren’t lumping (part-time brand leaders, restaurateurs, designers, and entrepreneurs) Justin Timberlake and Ashton Kutcher together.” They do other businesses. I think it’s expected that when you get success in one area, you’re supposed to evolve and try to do something else, especially in business, and especially if you’re a man.”
Alba’s natural lifestyle firm has been growing exponentially since its launch in 2012, and was recently valued at USD 1.7 billion (`11,074 crore).
