Actor Priyanka Chopra (right) is making waves for her American TV series. The actor is pretty kicked about the show, but what she is extremely happy about is that she bagged the role not because of her skin colour but for her calibre as an actor.

“I wanted to be cast for the respect of being an actor, not for the colour of my skin... Going to school in America, I never saw anyone with my colour of skin on TV,” says the National Award winner, who on an earlier occasion has spoken about facing racism in school when she was a student in the US.

She says that she is happy to have become a part of the FBI thriller show because that gives her a chance to be part of the content which according to her is the best.

“Of all the content, the best content in the world is in American Television, and I wanted to be part of that,” says Chopra.

Meanwhile, the actor got emotional on her father’s birth anniversary on Sunday. “Happy birthday papa. Want to wake you up at mid night by jumping on the bed and scaring you with cake and whistles... Happy birthday daddy. Miss u every moment of every day. Got ur favourites on loop today. Where words fail, music speaks,” she wrote on Twitter.
