‘Incidents like the Aarushi murder case should never happen’
Actor Konkona Sen Sharma (right), whose upcoming film is based on the sensational Aarushi Talwar murder case, feels such an incident should never happen to anyone in real life, so that there is never a need to make a movie on it.
The double murder of 14-year-old Aarushi and the domestic help of the Talwars, Hemraj Banjade (45), in Noida in 2008, forms the crux of this Meghna Gulzar-directed film.
“This should never happen again ... A crime is committed on a young girl where we don’t know whether the evidence is compromised and we also don’t know if justice will be served or not. This has been a travesty (of justice),” says Konkona, adding, “If a 14-year-old girl dies, you should know what is going on and the guilty should be punished. This should never happen and hopefully we should never make a film like this.”
Talking about playing Nupur, Aarushi’s mother in the film, the 35-year-old actor, known for her award-winning acting skills says that she found this role challenging. “I found it (film) very interesting as a performer. It is an investigative thriller, we have shown various aspects of the investigation,” she says.
