Actor Ali Fazal (left) will soon be writing a book on his grandfather Ahmed Saeed, who brought him up and is like a father to him. The 28-yearold says that he wants to include all the details about his grandad’s life — a journey through his early adulthood, marriage as well as the dark side of his life, which includes incidents where he came face-to-face with situations like plotted murders, kidnapping and seeing gun shots fired.

“It’s a book on his life journey, right from his days in Lucknow to his marriage into a royal family (my grandmother’s), and the life after that. Amid all this, there were money disputes and property feuds. It’s an interesting take and it’s going to be an elaborate task,” says Ali, who has featured in films like Khamoshiyan (2015), Bobby Jasoos (2014) and Fukrey (2013).

Although he is busy with his ongoing movie projects, Ali wants to start work on his book soon. “It is challenging to manage this book with my other film projects, but I am determined to do this. I want to finish this by the end of this year. My grandfather is 89, and I want him to see the book as soon as possible,” says Ali.
