Jas­bir Jassi clears the air

Singer Jas­bir Jassi ( left), who came un­der the spotlight for his state­ment about singer Yo Yo Honey Singh re­cently, says that he did meet Singh, but not in a re­hab. “I met him in Chandi­garh, not deny­ing from that, but I did not meet him in a re­hab,” he says. “I don’t need to speak against Honey Singh for pub­lic­ity. I can get that by singing cer­tain kind of songs,” fur­ther adds Jassi, hint­ing at songs with lewd lyrics.

“I have noth­ing per­sonal against him ( Yo Yo Honey Singh), in fact I ad­mire his mu­sic and am fan of his beats. Only is­sue I ever had was with some of his songs with ob­scene lyrics and glo­ri­fy­ing al­co­hol/ drugs, ( sic)” wrote Jassi, about Singh on twit­ter on Tues­day.

Jassi, who has sung hits such as Laung da lashkara ( Patiala House, 2011), Dil le gayee kudi Gu­jrat di and Kudi kudi, has a rep­u­ta­tion of be­ing up­front and has stood against songs with lewd lyrics, as he be­lieves in pro­mot­ing qual­ity mu­sic.
