Hindustan Times (Patna) - Live - - Leisure - YASHIKA MATHUR

Wearing branded clothes and stylish accessories comes naturally to actors, but

Gaurav Gera (above) leads life differently. “I am not fashion conscious at all. I studied to be a fashion designer from an institute, so I think that killed the excitement of wearing brands,” says Gaurav, who has done television shows such as Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi, Tota Weds Maina and Mrs Pammi Pyarelal. “I still don’t like shopping. I can go to functions wearing my old clothes and looking really simple. The only thing is that I observe how others dress when I go to events, which eventually helps me in dressing up my characters on screen,” he adds.

Gera plays Chutki, a woman, has become a favourite among his fans. Asked if he feels any kind of competition from fellow actor Sunil Grover’s female character Gutthi, he says, “Sunil is a friend. We have even worked together in the past, so I don’t think there is any feeling of competition between us. And anyway, Chutki is more beautiful!.”

The 41-year-old actor says he likes donning various looks. “When most of the actors want to be known for their face, I want to be known for my character,” he says.
