5 STREET SHOPPING HACKS
From learning how to bargain to avoiding fake brands, here is your smart guide to street shopping
Delhi streets are like a runway of people walking around with different fashion tastes. While street shopping is every Dilliwali’s right, it comes with its intricacies. It is an art and to master this art, you need practice and to gain command over a few do’s and don’ts. We have a few tips you should keep in mind while you’re on a street shopping spree.
When you pick up a piece you like, avoid making your interest in it obvious to the shopkeeper, as they will try to take an advantage of your interest and demand an unfair price. After they quote the price, negotiate the price you desire. If they are adamant and refuse to sell at your price, our suggestion would be to move on as most of the street shops have similar or the same products.
Street markets have thrifted products from big high street brands, high-fashion brands and a few local brands too. Buyers get excited and tend to not check the product before buying. Make sure you check all the buttons and zippers, to ensure they are not damaged. Keep your eyes wide open and play smart.
A large number of women shop from high-street brands. It gets boring and monotonous seeing almost every girl wearing the same thing. Avoid playing mainstream and make most of all the stuff that is different, you might just become a trendsetter.
CARRY YOUR OWN BAG
Arm yourself with a big jute bag so you don’t have to carry a dozen of plastic bags all together. It becomes unmanageable and also tires you down. In fact, you may even lose a packet or two if you aren’t careful.
AVOID FAKE BRANDS
Not everything that is cheap has to be good and standardised. There are a lot fake brands piled up in huge heaps in many shops. Avoid buying them since buying and wearing a fake, is a strict no-no for anyone who loves fashion.
