‘I’m not just a comedian’
Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav (left), known for his comic performances in films such as Chup Chup Ke (2006), Hungama (2003), Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003) and Bhool Bhulaiya (2007), says that he does not want to be typecast. “People call me comedian, but I think I am an entertainer. I don’t like the ‘comedy’ tag. I think I have done all kind of roles — negative, serious and entertaining. I feel lucky to be accepted by the audience,” says Rajpal.
The 44-year-old feels fortunate to have got the opportunity to play interesting roles and work with talented actors. “Today, options are plenty for actors to choose interesting work. I feel blessed to be here as I am getting to do films in various languages — Hindi, Punjabi, Kannada,” he said.
“I get bored easily, so I keep looking for interesting things. I am not in a hurry to do films. Whether the role or the film is big or small, doesn’t matter to me. It has to excite me,” he added.
