Actor Shilpa Shetty ( left) says that she is ready to return to films and has started reading scripts. However, she wouldn’t term as it as a “comeback” the way people generally term it. “Every day, I end up coming on the screen for some reason, at least on the small screen. I wasn’t even considering it ( films) but now ( son) Viaan will soon turn three. He’s spending more time at school, so I’ve started reading scripts. And the couple of scripts I read were not up to the mark.

“It really has to be a riveting film for me to do, something I haven’t done before. And I’m not going to make a comeback or something, like how people term it. I just want to do something that would interest me as an actor,” says the actor.

Asked about the genre with which she would like to make a return, she says the ideal script hasn’t come her way, so she can’t comment on that.

Shilpa was last seen in an item number for her own production, Dishkiyaoon which starred Harman Baweja. Her last substantial performance was in Apne in 2007 and it’s been more of special appearances after that.
