British actor Emma Watson (left) feels the disparity between the number of female and male directors she has worked with is proof of the inequality that exists against women working in the movies. The 25-year-old has never been shy about expressing her distaste for the inequal treatment of women in Hollywood.

“I have experienced sexism in that I have been directed by male directors 17 times and only twice by women. Of the producers I’ve worked with, 13 have been male and only one has been a woman,” the Harry Potter star said. Watson, however, admitted that she has been lucky as compared to other women who have been turned away simply because of their gender, whether as an actress or as a director. “I have always insisted on being treated equally and have generally won that equality,” she explained.
