Vivek to promote Indian handicrafts
Actor Vivek Oberoi (right) has been associated with many social cause like antismoking and sanitation projects, with the latest being his collaboration with the Maharashtra government for a campaign to promote handicrafts in the state.
“Vivek loves collaborating with different agencies for causes that are important to him. Not only is he satisfied with his new campaign called Van Dhan Jan Dhan, but is also eager to start work on it soon. For this, Vivek will be going to 16 villages in Maharashtra to meet people who make handicrafts and understand their problem,” says a source close to the actor. “Also, he will be speaking to a lot of people who own small-scale industries, so that he can directly make the artist meet the buyer,” adds the source.
“We have already met with a few people from some villages to promote small scale industries and have bigger plans in the pipeline. This will go a long way in helping the craftsmen earn a living, and better profit margins,” says the 39-year-old actor.
