If you are a Star Wars fan, you’d remember Princess Leia’s iconic hairdo — two hair buns sitting on either side, and leaving an indelible mark on pop culture and fashion history.

Now, celebs are bringing back the twin-bun hairdo, also known as pigtail buns or devil horn buns. While singer Miley Cyrus brought the style back into limelight a couple of years back, it’s only now that celebs are warming up to it. From Hollywood actor-singer Vanessa Hudgens to our very own actors Kangana Ranaut and Gauahar Khan — the twin challenge is hot right now. Experts say the style is fun to carry off and for college-going youngsters, a fresh breath of air.

“Double buns have a carefree feel about them – they are extremely easy to create and look chic. Though sleek double buns remain an all-time favorite, twisted or braided buns add more girly-ness to the look,” says beauty expert Bharti Taneja. “The hairdo has a bohemian quality about it. It’s super easy to swirl and twist into place when you are short on time. We have clients attending casual tea parties or brunches asking for the do and lots of youngsters going for it too,” says beauty expert Kanikka Gauraav Tandon. Wondering how to own the trend? “Along with twin buns, do a hint of blush and pick peachy lip shades for the day. For the evening, bold red lips, a mild bronzer and winged eyeliner will do the trick,” says beauty expert Aashmeen Munjaal.
