Actor Zareen Khan (left), had to face a lot of criticism for her weight when she made her Bollywood debut in Veer (2010). However, she says that the tables have turned now and post her cameo in the track Character Dheela in the Salman Khan-starrer, Ready (2011) the naysayers have changed their perception.

“A lot of people really did not want to work with me when I entered Bollywood. After a year or so the song Character Dheela happened and the same people who called me fat then, were suddenly calling me sexy. I understood that perceptions change really fast in Bollywood,” says Zareen.

However, the actor never felt the need to point this out to those who made her feel bad at the start. “I am just amused that you have to work with these people. There is no thought of revenge because this is how this industry works. You are just supposed to move ahead and not get stuck on these things. Rather than being revengeful I feel proud of myself,” she says.

Zareen was even tagged as a lookalike of actor Katrina Kaif, but she does not blame the audience for that. “I think it is a little unfair for the public because the image was just fed to their minds. That did not help me either because it was a little bit of disadvantage to begin with a comparison. However, I am glad that over the years I was able to get that tag off me,” she says.
