Make more films like Mary Kom
Actor Suniel Shetty (right) feels Bollywood should make more biopics like Mary Kom, as there are many great sports personalities in India, who need to be talked about. “I feel Bollywood should make more movies on Indian sports personalities, just like Mary Kom, which is a trendsetter film,” Suniel said.
Indian cinema is in a phase where several filmmakers are digging into life stories of sportspersons. After movies on boxer MC Mary Kom, sprinter Milkha Singh, athlete Paan Singh Tomar, there are more biopics coming on cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, in which Sushant Singh Rajput is playing the Indian skipper. Karan Johar has also bought the rights to make a biopic on hockey legend Dhyan Chand.
The director of Mary Kom — Omung Kumar, who is working on a biopic on Sarabjit Singh, the Indian convict who died in a Pakistani prison, will soon start shooting the film in December in Punjab.
