SRK and Alia’s romance won’t be conventional: Gauri
Shinde (left) will soon start working on her second directorial project starring actors Shah Rukh Khan (right) and
Alia Bhatt (below right) in the lead roles. The director says that the story will not show conventional romance. Gauri, 41, whose debut film, English Vinglish (2012), was widely appreciated, wants to maintain the suspense on the chemistry her lead actors will be sharing in the yet untitled project to be produced by Karan Johar. “Let’s wait and watch. It won’t be as typical as one expects — a man and woman to be together,” she says.
Alia, 22, had earlier said that she feels intimidated and nervous acting with Shah Rukh, and Gauri feels that it is a good thing. “I think it is good to be intimidated. We should all be intimidated with each other,” she says.
The one film old director says that she finds herself fortunate to get 49-year-old SRK and Alia on board for her film. “I don’t know how it happened...I wrote the script and I got lucky with the casting.”
The project is expected to go on floors soon.
