It’s a good time to be Priyanka Chopra. While all the appreciation for her American television show Quantico was still sinking in, the 33-year-old has now won in the 2015 MTV Europe Music Awards’ Best India Act category. The actor says that she owes her success to her focussed approach.

“It has never mattered to me what anyone else is doing. I have never been that kind of person. I wear blinders and focus on what I do. My career has never been dependent on anyone else’s failure or success,” she says, adding that this does not mean that she doesn’t have friends in the industry. “I have always gotten along very well with my co-actors, which is what matters. I am fortunate to have worked with a lot of people and I am friends with them,” she says.

The actor is working simultaneously in the west as well as Bollywood, but she says that’s no problem. “The working style is very similar. Directors see everything on the monitor, there are script supervisors and there is someone reading your lines and doing your makeup. There is not much of a difference,” she says.
