Actor Richa Chadha (left) has signed on to star in director Omung Kumar’s upcoming biopic on Sarabjit Singh, who was convicted of spying by a Pakistani court. The film sees Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Randeep Hooda (right) in lead roles.
In the film, Aishwarya will play Sarabjit’s sister, Dalbir Kaur, who fought for her brother’s release from the Lahore jail but her quest ended tragically when he died in 2013 following a brutal attack by fellow prisoners.
Richa, who is riding high on the success of Masaan, will play Sarabjit’s wife in the film based on the Indian who died in the Pakistani jail. “Yes, they have approached me and I will be doing it. However, at this point of time, paper work is being done and I can’t comment anything more. I have been offered the role to play Randeep’s wife and I will sign on the dotted lines soon. It is an interesting role and can’t wait to talk more on the same,” Richa says. This will be her second film opposite Hooda. The two will be seen together in upcoming film on Charles Sobhraj, also a biopic.
