Take fashion inspiration from the global runway
There cannot be a bigger inspiration for fashionistas than the runways. The Sao Paulo Fashion Week, which concluded recently, featured collections from more than 30 designers. Here are the top trends from the show that can up your style quotient.
Pink is the colour of the season. You can use all shades of pink, especially with coats and trousers. Team it up with white for an edgier look.
Get imaginative this upcoming winter season by going for easily adaptable clothing to cope with a dip in the temperature. Choose lighter and delicate clothes with lace and perforations for a contemporary twist. You can also experiment by opting for attached lacy ruffles to your sweater or show off a delicate, lacy top underneath your leather jacket. Or, wear a v-neck cardigan over a top with a lacy peter pan collar. The lace creates a different texture all together and brings in an artisanal style. Add a bit of sophistication by opting for wide flared trousers that rise a few centimeters higher than standard. Play with textures and layering.
Give those flower and animal prints a miss, it is stripes and geometric shapes — especially in black and white — that are set to rock this season. The always-popular silver was less in evidence this season, with copper on the rise, shining against a general backdrop of grey. Boots are ideal for this season as they give a coppery sheen and add a bit of gloss too.
