Producing films that are not his own upsets Vishal

Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj (right) has said that he no longer wishes to produce films that he is not directing himself. “I am very irritated with producing other directors’ films. That takes away a lot of my time. Slowly, I want to just start making my films. Only and only my films,” says Bhardwaj, who has produced films such as No Smoking (2008), Ishqiya (2010), Ek Thi Daayan (2013) and Dedh Ishqiya (2014). “But sometimes the director and the story are so compelling that I get sucked into producing the project,” he adds. The National award-winning filmmaker, also a music composer and writer, is not in the mood to multitask anymore. “Right now, I want to cut down on things that distract me and do one thing at a time,” he says.
