Losing and putting on weight to fit into their characters seems to be a mandate for actors but Swara Bhaskar (above) is not fond of this trend.

The 27-year-old, who will be losing weight for her upcoming film Anaarkali Aaraawaali, says that putting on weight is easy, but losing it is a challenge. “I’ve had to put on weight for films and I am a foodie, so it’s not an issue. But losing weight is tough. This is why I hate putting on weight for films. I am still trying to lose the weight from my last film. I am very nervous this time,” she says.

Swara, who is great friends with actor Sonam Kapoor, says that she is a very genuine person. “I love Sonam. She’s a beautiful surprise and not at all bitchy like other actresses. She is a breath of fresh air in this competitive industry. It’s so much fun being with her,” says Swara, adding that the industry is such that there can’t be many friendships. “I’ve had at least one friendship from every film. But I guess it’s tough for actors, who’re competing with each other,” she says.
