Thorn­ton in hospi­tal af­ter car crash

Ac­tor Billy Bob Thorn­ton ( left) is re­cov­er­ing af­ter he was in­jured in a car ac­ci­dent. The 60-year-old was a pas­sen­ger in a ve­hi­cle that col­lided with an­other car in West Hol­ly­wood on Fri­day.

Paramedics were called to the scene and Thorn­ton was taken to the lo­cal CedarsSi­nai Med­i­cal Cen­ter to treat a head in­jury, ac­cord­ing to TMZ. How­ever, a rep­re­sen­ta­tive for Thorn­ton has down­played the ac­ci­dent, say­ing that the ac­tor was only hos­pi­talised as a pre­cau­tion. He was sub­se­quently given the all clear and dis­charged.

Thorn­ton re­fused to let the in­ci­dent dis­rupt his sched­ule and re­turned to work on the set of his lat­est project. No more de­tails about the ac­ci­dent had been re­leased.
