Last year, actor Emraan Hashmi’s son, Ayaan, was diagnosed with cancer. Due to the timely treatment, the four-year-old has recovered and is healthy today. Emraan now wants to do his bit for the society by creating awareness about cancer. The 36-year-old Bollywood actor plans to set up several cancer detection camps in and around Mumbai. He is working on this initiative with doctors who treated his son. He also aims to get an NGO on board.

A source says, “Emraan is also writing a book about coping with a loved one’s battle against cancer. The decision to set up these detection centres is another step in the same direction, to create awareness and educate people about cancer. He wants to help people understand the signs, and wants to urge them to get tested at the earliest to avoid complications in the treatment later.”

“Emraan and his team are in talks with an NGO to widen the scope of this initiative. These centres will also guide people on the monetary aspect of the treatment,” adds the source.

Despite several attempts, the actor remained unavailable for a comment.
