When it comes to menswear, it seems like there’s so much more Indian guys can experiment with. Helping them hone their sartorial skills, designers Shantanu and Nikhil Mehra are now paving the way for niche fashion for men. From their looped, draped kurtas to the signature bandhgalas — the designers are welcoming a new phase of fashion into their brand, with actors like Ranveer Singh, Abhishek Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor already donning the best of the label’s designs.

“We are now carving out our menswear from the existing brand umbrella and giving it its own identity. We have been doing menswear for almost 15 years, and it’s innate in the DNA of the brand. The journey of menswear is now being given shape and form,” says Shantanu Mehra, speaking about the launch of their one-stop store, exclusively for men, starting with Kolkata. To celebrate the same, a fashion show in Kolkata is being held tonight giving a sneak peek into the designs. “For inspiration, we always go back to pre-independence times. Vintage nostalgia, colonial architecture and the Nehruvian era inspire our menswear, all laced with minimalism and edge,” Shantanu adds.
