Actor Rahul Bhat’s (above) work in filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s film Ugly (2013) was appreciated worldwide and he says that it is important for him to work with a good director.

“For an actor like me, working with a good director is very important because only a skilled filmmaker will look at the project in a seasoned manner,” says Bhat, who will next be seen in filmmaker Sudhir Mishra’s directorial. “Sudhir has outdone himself in this project. It will be a delight for the audience,” he says.

Bhat, who has been a part of films such as Yeh Mohabbat Hai (2002) and Nayee Padosan (2003) took almost a decade to come back to the camera, and it worked to his advantage.

“Initially, I got involved in television production. I thought I would be away from the camera for only two or three years, but there was so much learning involved that my sabbatical got extended,” says the actor, who rose to fame after playing the role of Sameer in the popular television show, Heena.

“I was waiting for a good project to come my way. A lot of B grade projects were offered to me but I chose no to take them up,” he adds.
