Arjun Kapoor may have earned appreciation for his performances in films such as Ishaqzaade (2012) and 2 States (2014), but his own assessment tells him he could have performed much better. The actor says that whenever he sees himself acting on screen, he starts thinking of ways that could have helped make his performance more intense.

“I am always that guy who is like ‘I could have done that better’. This happens because by the time you see the film finally, you have already gone through 6-8 months of your life and you have evolved as an actor. Your experiences are broadened and you are a much more mature person by then. You can’t help but feel that you could have done your part differently,” says the 30-year-old.

That’s the reason the actor tries blocking out all doubt-inducing thoughts from his mind and focuses only on his director’s instruction while shooting. “You need to realise that the director knows a lot more than you. If he is okay with the shot, then it must be just fine. You have to let go of yourself at some point,” says Kapoor.

The actor who has just finished shooting for his upcoming film which also stars actor Kareena Kapoor Khan, has many things to look forward to in the coming months. “I have finished Balki sir’s film (R Balki, director). I was in Delhi for the shoot and it was a great experience. I am also focusing on a show that I am hosting on television,” he shares.
