Actor Sonam Kapoor (left) says that the makers of her recent release co-starring actor Salman Khan, had to explain to her that the film’s collections were good, as she is clueless about the mathematics behind box-office numbers.

“I don’t understand numbers. I just don’t get how it works. I used to receive a call from the co-producer every day about the collections and I would ask, ‘Is it good or bad?’ And they would say, ‘It’s very good news’. This film has made those kind of numbers, so obviously, many people have watched the film,” says the actor.

Sonam’s dance in the film’s title track has been quite popular, with numerous videos of celebrities dancing to her steps in them, doing the rounds.

“Everybody is congratulating me. What I love is that I’m getting calls and messages from people who’ve never messaged or called me. And it’s people not from the industry. I’ve been getting a lot of calls from Indians abroad who’re watching the film and missing home so much. For me, that is the best thing, when something affects you emotionally in the best way,” says the 30-year-old.

Sonam recently became a victim of trolls on social media for her apparent ‘misogynistic’ remark on the meat ban in Mumbai. But there are no trolls for her performance in the film. “Predominantly, I receive a lot of negativity on social media, but I’m receiving only positivity now and that is overwhelming for me on a different scale. Thanks to Salman, Sooraj sir; it has nothing to do with me, but I’m very happy,” she says.
